RS Components to strengthen its China's e-Commerce business

Initiatives to boost e-Commerce sales through Alipay payment services and first China-specific partnership with

Taiwan, 23 November 2010 :

These initiatives include the introduction of Alipay, China’s leading online payment solution on the RS China website, providing RS’ online customers a fully-integrated e-commerce experience, with the promise of security and ease-of-use. Customers can now make their purchases and payment through Alipay within the website’s seamless checkout process. Within the first month of its implementation, RS saw almost half of all online orders paid using Alipay.

Speaking for RS, Marcelo Wesseler, Head of eCommerce, Asia Pacific, said, “Alipay will not only bring convenience and excellent user experience to RS’ online customers, but it also provides the added assurance of a safe and secure online payment environment with Alipay’s advanced escrow-based system. Apart from providing better online service experiences to its customers, RS has also embarked on online marketing efforts specific to the China market, including a partnership agreement with, one of the leading Electronic Components search engines in US and China ( With the partnership, RS China has become the first China specific site on and expects significant web traffic to be driven from the search engine to RS’ website.
