RS PRO Tungsten Carbide Tipped SDS Drill Bit Set, 9 Piece
Introducing the RS PRO 7 Piece SDS or Masonry Drill Bit Set, ideal for drilling through tough construction and building materials with a high-quality finish. Each drill bit is made from alloy steel with a Tungsten Carbide tip for ultimate sharpness and durability, while the spiral flute design ensures a precision point to start, allowing for accurate use in a range of different materials. This RS PRO drill bit set includes some of the most commonly used masonry bit sizes and is supplied in a handy case with numbered drill bit slots for ultimate convenience.
Features and Benefits:
- This RS PRO drill bit set contains 7 pieces of the most commonly used SDS and masonry drill bit sizes, suitable for use across a wide range of materials
- Made from alloy steel and a sharp and durable Tungsten Carbide tip, these drill bits cut faster through hard materials without compromising the bit tip
- Each metal drill bit has been designed with a heavy-duty shank for maximum durability and a maximised central core for increased energy transmission, making it super-efficient while under load
- Suitable for use with most power tools like hammer action drills and can be used on materials like masonry, concrete, stone, brick, blockwork and more
- The bit set contains 7 pieces (5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm x 110 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm x 160 mm) and is stored in a convenient case with numbered drill bit slots for easy selection and storage
Applications:
Masonry drill bits have distinct advantages over standard drill bits, and they can be used on a variety of materials, that may not be as easy to drill through with other bits like HSS. These bits are generally used for fast drilling of anchor, plug or clearance holes in building or construction materials, making them essential power tool accessories for professional and domestic use, especially in construction and building-related applications. These drill bits can safely and efficiently drill high-quality finish holes in a range of materials like:
- Brick
- Concrete
- Stone
- Breezeblocks
What is SDS?
The Slotted Drive System or SDS was created in the late 1970s when many masonry workers were having issues drilling holes into bricks, concrete, and other hard materials. An SDS drill bit has slots or indentations which allow it to be propelled forward by the drill, using a hammer action. By doing this, the bit can easily push through hard materials like concrete or brickwork and also involves minimal effort for the user because they do not need to lean or push on the drill to make it work efficiently. The hammer action that is created by the drill and the bit together is enough pressure to allow the drill to do all the hard work.
