It diverts voltage spikes through a multi-stage hybrid protection circuit, combining solid-state electronics and a GDT (gas-filled discharge tube). This provides low-line resistance and surge protection of up to 20kA (kiloamperes). The device has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, so it's suitable for use in harsh conditions.
