Why is a PCB header also referred to as a pin header?
The PCB header features a set number of pins that conduct the flow of electrical current when it's mounted and activated. PCB headers can come with several pins depending on their intended application. For additional safety and security, the pins can be protected (shrouded) with a plastic case.
