RS Components adds stepper motors and DC drivers from Sanyo Denki to industrial automation range

New hybrid stepper motors from leading maker target range of industrial automation applications

Taiwan, 19 May 2015:

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, has announced availability of new 42mm and 56mm stepper motors in the SANMOTION range of high-torque low-vibration hybrid stepper motors from Sanyo Denki.

Targeting machine builders and manufacturers of scientific and medical instruments, the new two-phase stepper motors are available with unipolar or bipolar windings together with a range of matching micro-stepping DC drivers.

Typically used to precisely control moving parts in the x and y axes within a machine, Sanyo Denki stepper motors are widely used in many motion-control applications, such as the control of industrial inkjet printers and labelling machinery through to the use in scientific measuring instruments and medical instrumentation for blood and DNA testing.

Key devices in the range include: the super-slim SS2421-5041 42mm stepper motor, which is aimed at space-critical applications and offers a highly compact stepping system in a package that is only 11.6mm deep; and the 14mm-frame-size SH2141-5541, which is a miniature frame motor that is only 30mm deep. The new IP65-rated 56mm motors – such as the SP2566-5160 – are ideal for harsh environments that are subject to dust and water such as food processing machinery and equipment that is designed for operation outside.

The SANMOTION range of 42mm and 56mm hybrid stepper motors from Sanyo Denki is shipping now from RS Components.
