Rust Treatments

When working with metallic surfaces and structures, rust can be a potential risk to the integrity and aesthetic of your project. RS Components carry a range of professional rust prevention and removal products designed to protect and restore, including rust and corrosion inhibitors and galvanising paints.

Rust Inhibitors

Designed to slow down the oxidisation process that causes rust in metals, rust inhibitors, or anti-rust sprays, are essential in metal maintenance. Whether it’s tool maintenance, protection for automobile parts, or elemental protection for outdoor locks and hinges, rust inhibitors create a protective barrier where you need it most that helps prevent rust from forming.

Specialist Applications

The RS range of rust inhibitors are specially formulated for a range of specialist applications, including:

  • Injection Mould Tooling
  • Bearings
  • Coupling
  • Electrical Equipment
  • Lathe Centres

Packaging and Uses

Aerosols: Sprays and aerosols provide fantastic coverage and are ideal for treating hard to reach parts of metal objects. Straws can be combined with nozzles to direct the spray into nooks and crannies such as keyholes, preventing wastage and ensuring protection is given where it is needed.

Cans, Bottles and Tubs: For generous and even application, a can, bottle or even tub of rust inhibitor may be a better option for anti-rust treatment than an aerosol spray

Galvanising Paints

Galvanising paints and sprays provide a protective coating to metals in both indoor and outdoor environments and can be used on untreated steel or surfaces that have already been galvanised. They are quick drying, high in zinc and have excellent anti-corrosion properties.

Galvanising paints and sprays can be applied directly to rusted metal to improve the appearance and create immediate protection from the elements. Some paints and sprays are also effective for preparing rusted metal surfaces with a smooth base ready for re-painting.

Galvanised metal paint is formulated to be applied onto non-rusting metal such as aluminium, copper and brass. Special heat adapted paints can be used on cranes, garage doors and barbecues.

Interior metal surfaces within the home can also benefit from galvanised paints, such as radiators, fridges, fire surrounds and hot water pipes. Galvanised paint can withstand temperatures of up to 600°C.
